From the Flagstaff Viewpoint on Fatham Hill near Newry you have a wonderful view over Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and Cooley Mountains. The name Flagstaff comes from the fact that flags used to be hoisted on the hill to announce the arrival of boats at Carlingford Louth.
