The Saturday morning guided tour of Saint Patrick’s Church of Ireland graveyard, led by Rónán and Séamus with tunes provided by Aoibh, examined the impact of the Enlightenment on the Newry mercantile and professional class in particular, and considered new information on the story of the United Irishmen in Newry. It was more a story about 1797 than 1798 as Newry U.I. structures had been undermined by mass arrests, highly placed informers and a local reign of terror.

The tour was based on research carried out by local history enthusiast Rónán Ó Macha.
